Hotpoint Washing Machine Error Codes.
Like most modern-day home appliances, your Hotpoint washing machine has a built-in system to warn you if it develops a fault or is being inhibited from performing at its peak.
In the case of Hotpoint washing machines they display an error code, or some models have LED lights that flash in a coded sequence. If know the code, you’ll know roughly what is wrong with your machine, and possibly even be able to correct the problem yourself.
If the error code is displaying due to a serious problem, like a glitch in the motor or other internal components that have failed, then you are best advised to call a Hotpoint washing machine repair engineer to diagnose and repair the issue. Tinkering with a washing machine on your own if you aren’t a trained appliance repair engineer could do more harm than good.
We’ve put together this list of Hotpoint Washing Machine Error Codes, with advisory notes and explanations, to help you if your Hotpoint washing machine breaks down or starts misbehaving.

Identifying Hotpoint Washing Machine Fault Codes
F01 (or LED light 4)
Electronic Circuit board fault. The washing machine will not operate, and some or all functions won’t be selectable. You can try unplugging the machine from the mains for at least two minutes, then reconnect, wait 30 seconds and try starting the machine again. If the fault persists you’ll need to call a repair engineer.
F02 (or LED light 3)
Motor circuit fault. There’ll be intermittent or no rotation of the drum during the wash cycle. This is a job for an engineer.
F03 (or LED light 3 & 4)
Temperature sensor fault. The washing machine will not heat at all. Call an engineer.
F05 9 (or LED light 2 & 4)
Waste pipe blockage or pump issue. When this code shows the washing machine’s door will not open, or it will open but the drum is full of water.
Check for blockages in your pump filter, the waste water hose and any plumbing pipes. If these seem clear it is likely the pump has failed and you’ll need a professional engineer to take a look.
F06 (or LED light 2 & 3)
Door lock fault. This code indicates that the washing machine’s door will not open or close – or when the door is closed the machine will not start. If the door won’t close check there are no obstructions to the door latch, and if not you’ll need an engineer to investigate the cause.
F07 (or LED light 2, 3 & 4)
Electronic circuit board fault/heating circuit fault. If the wash cycle programme pauses part way through, or the machine doesn’t heat and the pump seems to be running continuously, then you’ll see this error code. There’s nothing you can do other than call in an engineer to fix the problem.
F08 (or LED light one)
Heater fault. If this code shows during a wash cycle and the programme pauses then you have a problem that needs attention from a professional engineer.
F09 (or LED lights 1 & 4)
Software fault. You’ll need to call an engineer if you see this code – the washing machine will probably not be operating, the programme selector won’t work and there’ll be multiple flashing lights on the display.
F11 (or LED light 1, 3 & 4)
Pump circuit fault. When this code displays you’ll note that water is failing to pump out of the washing machine. Call an engineer for a diagnosis and repair.
F12 (or LED lights 1 & 2)
Electronic Control fault. When your washing machine won’t turn on no matter what you do, and this code is on the display, you’ll need help from a professional repair engineer.
F13
Washer-Dryer temperature sensing fault. This code is reserved for washer-dryers, which display this when they fail to dry the laundry. Call to book a service engineer to fix the problem.
F15 (or LED lights 1, 2, 3 & 4)
Heater control fault. Both washing machines and combination washer-dryers will show this code when they are not heating water or air, and/or pause during a wash or drying cycle. This is a job for an engineer.
F18 (or LED light 3)
Internal data error. This probably means your washing machine needs a reset. Some or all of the displays and functions fail to work. Unplug the machine from the mains for at least two minutes, then reconnect and wait 30 seconds before trying to start the machine again. If this doesn’t work, call an engineer.
